Dr. Sweitzer was twice selected as Teacher of the Year at the University of Chicago. She is an author and editor of theย Handbook of Preoperative Assessment and Managementย (1st and 2nd editions) and has written numerous publications on perioperative medicine, including chapters in Millerโsย Anesthesiaย (7th edition);ย Anesthesiologyย by Longnecker (1st and 2nd editions); andย Basics of Anesthesia, Stoelting and Miller (6th edition). She lectures extensively on preoperative evaluation and preparation of patients having anesthesia.
