Dr. Sweitzer was twice selected as Teacher of the Year at the University of Chicago. She is an author and editor of the Handbook of Preoperative Assessment and Management (1st and 2nd editions) and has written numerous publications on perioperative medicine, including chapters in Miller’s Anesthesia (7th edition); Anesthesiology by Longnecker (1st and 2nd editions); and Basics of Anesthesia, Stoelting and Miller (6th edition). She lectures extensively on preoperative evaluation and preparation of patients having anesthesia.
