Psychiatry Board Review With Board-Focused Faculty
Remember, the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology tests you on the entire breadth of your specialty, beyond what’s practical in your day-to-day. Let our knowledgeable faculty guide you through a comprehensive review that covers exactly what the Psychiatry Certification Exam Blueprint dictates.
FAQs – Beat The Boards! Psychiatry Certification Board Review
Is Beat The Boards! different from other board reviews?
Yes, in three main ways:
1. Beat The Boards! board review is the most comprehensive option. More than just a Question Bank of practice questions, each course includes in-depth lectures in a familiar classroom setting presented by expert faculty. This means you get a topic-by-topic review of exactly what’s on the board exam in much greater detail than what you can get from QBank answer explanations.
2. Because the physician’s schedule is typically a hectic one, Beat The Boards! is optimized for on-the-go review. Components such as the audio-only lecture option, iOS and Andriod app for mobile review, and offline access capability, and a fully-illustrated board-mapped study guide make Beat The Boards! review easy to incorporate at any point in your daily routine.
3. The Triple Trust Guarantee not only gives you a full tuition* refund if you don’t pass the exam the first time after taking the course, but it also gives you an extra 10% AND allows you continued access until you pass, for free. This unprecedented guarantee serves to assure you of the confidence we have that Beat The Boards! content is exceptional.
*Tuition is defined as the amount you paid for your base course, and does not include optional course add-ons, such as purchase of online access extensions, and/or the live course attendance option (where available). If any promotional items, such as gift cards, are included with your purchase, the value of that promotional item will be deducted from your tuition.
Who produces Beat The Boards! Courses? Where do you get your faculty?
Beat The Boards! board review courses are produced by American Physician Institute for Advanced Professional Studies, LLC (API). API conducts dozens of courses and trains thousands of psychiatrists each year to pass their boards and stay up to date in their fields. Every single one of American Physician Institute‘s educational courses has full editorial independence, is free of pharmaceutical and industry sponsorship and is backed by an unbeatable guarantee. Because of its reputation for excellence, American Physician Institute is able to enlist many of the top faculty from the best universities, teaching hospitals and research facilities in the country to provide you with Category 1 CME educational activities.
Do you provide board review for other medical specialties?
Yes! In fact, we provide preparation for dozens of other specialty and subspecialty board exams. Check out www.AmericanPhysician.com for the full list.
Is it likely that my employer will cover my tuition?
Because all Beat The Boards! courses are approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™, it is likely that your tuition will be reimbursed. You may be surprised at how many residency and fellowship training programs, group practices, and other employers pay for or reimburse you for such Category 1 educational activities. After all, it’s in everyone’s best interests to have you board certified. It really pays to ask your training director, medical director or administrator if you are eligible because some training programs and employers do pay for board exam training. And, if you work for the Federal Government, American Physician Institute is a certified business in the System for Award Management (SAM) database and can accept government checks and credit cards.
Does Beat The Boards! offer any free board review resources?
Yes! Start with our Psychiatry Board Review Blog. There are general articles featuring board prep tips, and articles on board prep that are more board-specific.

Board Exam Results and The Triple Trust Guarantee
Is Beat The Boards! Psychiatry Certification review pass-guaranteed?
Yes, all full courses are pass-guaranteed, and backed by our Triple Trust Guarantee. At any time, you can view the Triple Trust Guarantee Terms & Conditions.
What does the Triple Trust Guarantee cover?
If you purchase a course with a “Triple Trust Guarantee” and then do not pass your board exam for which the course was intended, API will issue a 100% refund of your paid tuition*, plus an additional 10%, plus free subscription renewal. The guarantee expires in the event the exam for which this course is designed is no longer offered by the certifying board.
* Tuition is defined as the amount you paid for your base course, and does not include optional course add-ons, such as purchase of online access extensions, and/or the live course attendance option (where available). If any promotional items, such as gift cards, are included with your purchase, the value of that promotional item will be deducted from your tuition.
The Triple Trust Guarantee sounds too good to be true—is it for real?
Yes, it’s completely real. Rest assured, API has always honored its guarantees and always will. The Triple Trust Guarantee is API’s way of demonstrating that it’s just as invested in your success as you are. After all, if you fail your board exam, API will pay a penalty. API will refund your course tuition in full, provide you with a bonus, and provide free subscription renewal. The guarantee ensures API doesn’t get paid for effort, only for passing results.
Does the Triple Trust Guarantee cover non-tuition course options and upgrades?
No. Course options and upgrades are non-tuition related. Therefore, these fees are not included in any guarantee-related refund payment made under the terms of the Triple Trust Guarantee.
What should I do if I don’t pass my board exam?
First, it’s important to remember that a non-passing result is not necessarily a reflection on your abilities as a psychiatrist. The way the ABPN tests you is not the same as the many ways you’re “tested” as a practicing psychiatrist. Check out this reassuring video from Dr. Jack - What To Do If You Fail Your Board Exam https://www.beattheboards.com/video-what-to-do-fail-your-board-exam/
More to the point, American Physician Institute can work with you to help you get over this professional hurdle. Give us a call!
I didn’t pass my board exam. How do I activate my course guarantee?
To activate your guarantee, you must notify American Physician of your failure to pass your board exam and submit a copy of your exam notification and scores. To be eligible for the refund portion of the guarantee you must submit your documents within 45 days of the date of your exam fail notification. To notify American Physician and submit your documents, go to your course dashboard and click on the "Guarantee" tab. Complete the form and attach your exam notification and scores. You will receive an email confirmation of receipt and someone will contact you shortly. If you need assistance with this process or your course access is expired, please contact Customer Care at 877-225-8384

"This course was an essential component of my board preparation. It was a very good review of psychiatry!"
Erik Bayona, MD, Pullman, WA
"I enjoyed this course because it gave me good practice on the exam. It covers a wide variety of topics and gives good explanations of the correct answer."
Andy Hur, MD, Dayton, OH
"This course offered more than was needed and helped me feel prepared coming out of the boards. The question bank was more than sufficient and the video lectures helped shore up some of my areas of concern."
Adam Watson, MD, Hudsonville, MI
"I focused on the questions and supplemented with lectures where I had more deficits and this worked as a great focused way to efficiently guide my studying with great results."
Mary Chavarria, MD, Los Angeles, CA
"Great review course. I completed residency program 7 years ago and never sat for exam until this year. I work full time and have 4 children. I didn't have a lot of exam time to devote to studying. However, I was able to watch videos and do practice questions. Felt well prepared on exam day. Left exam knowing that I had passed!"
Jennifer Hornick, MD, Macon, GA
"The syllabus and videos really help you feel like you covered majority of the material so nothing felt brand new on the exam! The questions were also great practice. All in all I would recommend this course!"
Neha Naqvi, MD, Manalapan, NJ
"This is the most comprehensive review course for the ABPN exam available that fits well with a busy clinician's schedule. With the comprehensive lecture videos, this course can also can be used to learn new content in content areas not exposed to in residency training without having to use any other resources. I learned quite a bit of new, clinically-relevant material in the lecture videos that I was able to apply to clinical care. Lecturers were all top notch with a passion of teaching. The questions in the q-bank were very similar to the real exam as well. With this course, not only able was I able to pass the exam comfortably, but I was able to score above the mean average score on the actual ABPN exam."
Nik Raju, MD, Cincinnati, OH
"Excellent review course! It covered a great majority of the important subject areas of the exam. Excellent neurology review as well. Felt very prepared after viewing all the videos and completing question banks. Highly recommend!"
Joseph Brock, DO, Juno Beach, FL
"Great resource for studying for boards. The videos are very helpful and the questions are very similar to the real exam! I would highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to pass the boards!"
Saadie Zaki, MD, San Antonio, TX
"Great course. If you complete this course as outlined and do the questions, you will pass your board. More than prepared for the test and actually learned a lot of practical knowledge that I applied to practice."
Kent Mathias, MD, Gainesville, FL
"This course was extremely comprehensive. Question bank and vignettes are very pertinent to the exam. I felt very prepared for the boards after taking this course!"
Zachary Shuler, MD, Asbury Park, NJ
"This course was so thoughtful and well-crafted. It really allows you to review at your own pace whether at home or on the go. You get real-time feedback on areas of focus in order to optimize what can often be limited study time for busy physicians. Would wholeheartedly recommend to other colleagues!"
Daniel Salahuddin, MD, Pittsburgh, PA
"I did the entire course in one month (late August to late September), watched all the lectures, completed all the questions and then went over all my incorrects, and I felt very confident about passing the exam when I took it. I honestly learned a lot from the course and I wish I had taken it before I started residency because there was a lot that I didn't know before! I will definitely be using Beat The Boards for my child & adolescent psychiatry boards now that I have seen how effective this was for both my education and my boards."
Liana Lau, MD, Brooklyn, NY
"I only utilized Beat The Boards as my sole board prep. Studied for two months at a normal pace, scored above the national mean. Course covers everything and MCQs are harder than the actual exam."
Johnathan Caraballo, MD, Coamo, PR
"Dr. Jack's board review class for psychiatry is one you don't want to miss and ideally you'll want to take it in person. It's 5 days of intensive review of all the things you want/need to know and more for the exam. I am so glad I attended. Made some great connections while in Chicago."
Ja'Nelle Blocker, MD, Philadelphia, PA
"I failed my first attempt at the Psychiatry Boards due to a disorganized study style. I tried just doing question banks but felt like I was missing a more comprehensive review. I used Beat The Boards for my second attempt and passed with an above average score. I felt the course kept my studying organized with lectures that were both engaging and providing pertinent information for the exam. I would definitely recommend for someone that wants a more comprehensive review as there were no sections on the exam that weren't covered in Beat The Boards. Thank You!!"
Caroline Bjorkman, DO, New York, NY
"The material I used from Beat The Boards was exceptionally relevant and helped me and my colleagues pass with flying colors."
Drew Murray, MD, Kansas City, MO
"This is a must do for ABPN board prep! Covers all of the high-yield topics!"
Xiao Xiong You, MD, Brooklyn, NY
"I passed my initial certification for psychiatry on the first attempt using Beat the Boards. I felt the lectures were thorough and the associated question bank with explanations were very helpful."
Roberto Sanchez, DO, New Haven, CT
"Beat the Boards really helped me to pass the boards. I was a bit worried since I had to postpond taking the exam for 2 years after completing the residency. Have difficulty taking standardized exams, had to work full time as an outpatient psychiatrist, and had a toddler at home. I started studying very early due to above concerns and passed the boards at first trial. The course was easy to do and it helped me not only to pass the exam but also gain knowledge. I highly recommend the course."
Soojae H., MD, Albany, NY
"During residency, I was someone who found it extremely difficult to study for PRITE exams. Therefore I began Board prep with a lot of anxiety. Dr. Jack's course helped me prepare efficiently and also gave me the confidence I needed to perform well on the Board exam. The videos provide a helpful review and the questions mirror the exam wonderfully. I highly recommend this course for your Board preparation. Worth every penny!"
Junaid Mirza, MD, Flushing, NY
"I used Beat the Boards and I was able to pass on my first attempt, 5 years after finishing my residency. It was also a great review of key topics in psychiatry, which I found very helpful. I will likely do the course again for the review aspect in another few years."
K. McKay, MD, Ontario, CAN
"Videos and question bank were great and complementary. I would watch one video on 1.5x speed and then complete 25 questions at a time and carefully review each answer, wether right or wrong; then go back and watch another video and repeat. After completing the question bank, I went back and redid all the wrong questions. Once I sat for the exam, I felt very prepared because I did not feel like the exam questions were as difficult and intricate as the questions provided by this program. Overall, I'm satisfied with Beat The Boards and will likely come back in 2024 and study for my addiction boards."
Alexander Sinu, MD, Tampa, FL
"Were intensive days, but we had a great and excellent experience. I recommend it to everybody who is preparing for the exam."
Tamara Guerra, MD, Miami, FL
"Excellent course + review + ongoing CME. Will continue to come in the future again for MOC review and also for CME, good review."
Sonia Demetrios, MD, Newark, NJ
"I personally believe it is a great course, cleared several concepts, created associations, intense but worth doing!! Thank you Dr. Jack and the rest of the doctors, staff, and team!!"
Dhrumil Patel, MD, Des Moines, IA
"The lectures are very thorough. They are informative, exam-oriented and I cannot think of this just track review of all the lectures videos if I am sitting at home and doing it by myself. Particularly this for me is the best way of reviewing and consolidating all the theory part one month before the exam. With no exception, I recommend the live lectures to anyone."
Venkata Dalai, MD, Fort Smith, AR
"I came to this conference last year as well. The lectures are always great. I feel better prepared for my board exam this year."
Phillip Burnett, DO, Panama City, FL
"Location and staff make 4 plus years digestible in a few days. Substance Use Disorders and Neurology lecture are worth the money and time, and Dr. Jack really cares about your specific learning."
Ana Navarro, MD, Milwaukee, WI
"Very helpful. I feel much more that I have a handle on all the information from an in-person class."
Evelynn Eckert, DO, St. Louis, MO
"Outstanding Course. Clear concise to the point! Great review! Supportive Colleagues!"
Mercedes Martinez, MD, Chicago, IL
"Before coming to the live lectures, it was a cloud of information. Now I feel the information as it was presented is more structured organized and easy to be reviewed."
Yusleiby Sanzo, MD, Miami, FL
"Coming to the API conference is really helpful. Not only content wise but also unique test taking strategies, networking. I would highly recommend it even if you are doing the online lectures."
Liza Dominguez-Colman, MD, Seattle, WA
"An excellent high yield use of time! A good way to have exposure to a vast material."
Justin Singh, MD, Palmetto Bay, FL
"I believe this course was the most cost-effective way to prepare for my board examination. Every minute was spent reviewing high yield material."
Marlon Quinones, MD, San Antonio, TX
"This was the first time I decided to take a board review course. I am a busy geriatric psychiatrist who does not have much free time to study for the boards. I decided to take Jack’s course “beat the boards”. I am so glad I did. I decided to take the combined adult and geriatric psychiatry boards, but to only the adult psychiatry review course. I practice geriatric psychiatry only so I was sort of out of touch with adult psychiatry. The Beat The Boards course made it so easy to prepare. I completed the MCQs twice, reviewed the entire content twice including the live course that was in Rosemont, IL. Followed every suggestion that Jack suggested on how to study and how to answer the questions, loved the faculty at the live course. Then took a deep breath and took my combined boards and passed with over 88% on both adult and geriatric psychiatry exams. I highly recommend this course to any colleague who is busy and does not have a lot of free time to study for maintenance of certification examinations. Thank you Dr. Jack !! See you again in 10 years for recertification exam."
Mohammad Siddiqui, MD, Chicago, IL
"This was a great course and I used it successfully to pass my initial GeroPsych boards and now my combo recertification. The lectures are easy to listen to and questions very solid and similar to the actual test. I highly recommend BeatTheBoards! to my colleagues."
Zach Morairty, MD, Twin Falls, ID
"Thank you so much for helping me not only pass but perform nicely above average on my psychiatry initial certification exam! Your program works quite well! I appreciate it."
Nicholas Arnoudse, MD, Temple, TX
"Examination went very well. I had done well on the PRITEs throughout residency, so I felt that my foundation was good, but the Beat the Boards! course nicely filled any lingering gaps in my knowledge and solidified the essential concepts. I don't recall any question on the examination that I wasn't able to at least make a reasoned guess at. I felt the Beat the Boards! question bank was ultimately more difficult than the actual examination, which I much appreciated (especially compared to the alternative where the examination feels more difficult than the questions one practiced with). Ultimately, I finished with 4 hours to spare because so many questions felt like automatic points, and I wound up with the highest percentile score I've ever had on a standardized examination. I'm very pleased; thanks for the excellent course."
Luke Piper, MD, Elizabethtown, PA
"I have used Beat the Boards! for 3 board exams: general psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, and addiction medicine. Thanks to this program, I passed all 3. I would whole-heartedly recommended this program for several reasons:
- The videos are excellent. The authors are engaging and clearly experts in their field. Lectures go beyond just helping to pass an exam; it improved my knowledge and bolstered my competence.
- The question banks are numerous, and good preparation for the real thing. A fantastic lecture series with a comprehensive question bank is all the resources you need for your exam preparation!
- I like the reminder about days left until the exam. It helps keep the goal in mind."
Ian Peters, DO, Colorado Springs, CO
"Passed the exam above average! Felt very well prepared after using this program. Usually, I am not a great test taker, but I even felt confident during the exam. The material is well-organized and the question banks were worth it. Definitely recommend!"
Danielle Z, DO, Farmington Hills, MI
"Great lectures, helped me pace well. Useful way to review the blur that was residency. Passed the initial exam 9/2021."
Sarat Munjuluri, MD, Houston, TX
"I was notified that I passed the exam last Wednesday evening. I scored a 410, which is more than 2 standard deviations about the mean. Your course was wonderful and thorough, though not overly detailed, and I will highly recommend it to any future psychiatrists preparing for the board exam going forward."
KJ, MD, Salt Lake City, UT
"Get it! Got it? Good....I cannot speak highly enough about the Beat the Boards course for Psychiatry Certification! If you are going to only use one resource for your preparation, you MUST choose this. Frankly, this is the only resource you will need. Dr. Jack and colleagues did a remarkable job covering everything that you need to know on test day. If you get through all of the test taking materials, you will walk into the exam with confidence. I have never used a product that helps as much with test preparation as this one."
KC Knudson, DO, Gainesville, FL
"Thank you so much, Dr. Jack. I passed the exam with a large margin (beyond the mean), which I have not done on previous step exams. The lectures were helpful, the binder with lecture notes were invaluable, and the vignettes were golden! It was enough information and overprepared me (which is my motto: always overprepare so that you never regret. lol). I completed all lectures with notes in hand; then reviewed the notes again a second time. I completed the Q-bank 2 times and the vignettes 1.5 times. The explanations were very helpful as well. I would definitely recommend this course because the lecturers were engaging and supportive and kept my interest. The course provided multiples areas for repetition to hone in on specific topics and details that we must commit to memory. The Q-Bank and vignettes were consistent with the content, style, and difficulty of the actual exam. Thank you so much, Dr. Jack and your team. I am excited to purchase the child and adolescent certification board review course shortly!!!"
Chelsey Ruth, MD, Honolulu, HI
"The review course helped me feel ready and prepared for my exam. I passed my exam and felt very comfortable with the questions thanks to the practice questions and lecture material in the course. I enjoyed listening to lectures on my commutes and felt the review course was worthwhile. I’d recommend to any of my psychiatry residency colleagues who want to feel prepared and organized for boards."
Tiffany Castillo, MD, San Diego, CA
"I passed the exam. Your preparation courses were fantastic. I went thru the ABPN exam really quickly thinking to myself "is that it? Am I missing something? This seems too easy". Thank you for an accessible well organized teaching system. Much appreciated."
Robert Hogg, DO, Tulsa, OK
“Dear Dr. Jack, While you don't know me, I feel like I know you well because you (and your colleagues) were my constant companions as I commuted from home to work this summer and fall as I prepared for my Psychiatry Board Exam. While I graduated from a very good combined psychiatry and family medicine residency program in June, I relied solely on your Beat The Boards course to prepare for the test. Today I learned that I passed the exam and am very grateful to you for such a well-developed and well-taught course. Thank you very much for a quality learning experience. I would not have passed without your help.”
Kevin Brazill, DO, Cincinnati, OH
“I enjoyed using Beat the Boards! more than any other study source. I felt overly prepared and confident. I passed the ABPN Psychiatry Boards with ease, and it is primarily due to the fact that I wasn't in the least bit nervous after reviewing Beat the Boards! I especially enjoyed the fact that I could stream the reviews via my web browser into my wireless headphones at home. Thus, I was able to study while multi-tasking around the house. This made my study experience much more enjoyable. I would recommend American Physician Institute's review materials to anyone.”
Shannon Hansen, MD, Columbia, SC
“I began my preparation rather late, having had to deal with changing jobs, moving home and relocating to a new state all within 2-3 weeks of the exam. In the middle of my hectic schedule, what I found most useful was the course videos that I downloaded on my Android phone and could listen to in my car as I drove to work each morning. In the end, I did manage to find the time to read the course work and practice the questions, and am I glad I did- Beat the Boards! was succinct, precise and excellent prep work for the final day of the exam. I aced my Neurology portion (the part I most dreaded) and sailed through the Psych too. So all I want to say is -Thank you Beat the Boards!”
Arun Haridas, MD, Philadelphia, PA
“I was so pleased with my course. I did the full online course of the Psychiatric Initial Examination, the first year to have the clinical component built in. I know for a fact this course put me over the edge. I was averaging Printe scores of around 45%. After 1 month with the program, I got 80% on both Neurology and Psychiatry from the board scores. I was so overjoyed. The online videos were top-rate, the online question banks were very appropriate, and the feedback helped to sharpen my skills. I ditched the Kaufman's book and any other study guides I had accumulated and concentrated just on the home study material. I've already recommended this course to others. Best decision I ever made. The guarantee that was offered cinched the deal for me. Very impressed!”
Matthew Aaron Sachs, MD, Virginia Beach, VA
“I worked 7 days a week and didn't have the time to go through text books and other study material. I heard about Dr. Krasuski's board review program from a colleague who was taking the exam the same year as I and I decided to use something that had a good reputation both online and from peers. I was surprised by the depth of information that was provided and the level of difficulty/complexity of the online test questions. It far succeeded what I need to pass the boards with minimal personal effort. If you follow Dr Krasuski's lectures and complete all of the questions online, there is almost a 100% chance of passing. I passed the boards after studying for less than 1 month with no other material other than what was provided to me by Dr. Krasuski. I continued working 7 days a week while studying and still passed with flying colors. I haven't heard of anyone in my group of cohorts who used Dr. Krasuski's prep material and did not pass the exam on their first try. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone who wants a high-yield method to review for 4 years of Residency in less than 1 month.”
W. David Chu, MD, Irvine, CA
“I took the Beat The Boards! course for Part I after failing the first time. I thought I had prepared thoroughly, having read Kaplan and Sadock cover to cover and several other texts. What taking the course did for me was help me to focus in on the key areas. When I retested, it was almost as if the test was too easy! I had narrowly missed passing the first time by only 2 points in Psychiatry and 6 in Neurology. My scores improved over 10 points in Psychiatry and nearly 20 in Neurology after the course! Bottom line is that it is worth taking the course to achieve a sure pass the first time around!”Renee Cook, DO, Springfield, IL
“I bit the bullet and reached out to your organization and signed up for your online course and eventually came to your review course in July in Chicago. But I continued to work a lot but studied a lot in between. From 4 am or lunch break or patients cancellation or in between patients at ER. In Chicago I was in the middle of my annual fast from sun rise to sun set. So no eating or drinking till 9pm. I took the mock test. Tried following your very calm recommendations but went into exam not sure about passing but reassured by your triple guarantee to retake. After exam felt better. But had 3 months to wait. As weeks went by felt resigned to failing exam and calling your organization. The dreaded email came 2 days ago and I PASSED!!!!!!!!! Not got the letter in mail but see my name as certified. Wanted to thank you and your organization. Very very professional and kind. Responsive and timely.”
Raslaan Nizar, MD, Jamesville, NY
“I took Beat the Boards! and thought it was a great program, organized, comprehensive and convenient. I enjoyed the added security of the money back guarantee. I also wanted to add that being a new mother was a new challenge that I had studying for this big exam. So, that is why the flexibility with this course of when and where I wanted to study was key to my success in passing the boards!”
Allana Lee, MD, Manchester, CT
“I received my certificate, and I would like to thank you for your support. Your course is accurate not just for the test, also for clinical practice. I enjoyed your video class tremendously. I look forward to taking my Geriatric certification course with you. I highly recommend the cause to all my colleges.”
Jenny Paola Rodriguez, MD, Springfield, NJ
“Beat The Boards! was the most beneficial study aid I used to pass the boards. The lectures were superior in high-yield and up-to-date detail. The companion booklet was helpful to take notes along the way. The neuro review was outstanding. Test prep pointers were spot-on. With the computer exams it was possible to simulate test conditions and gauge progress. Most of the sample questions were harder than the actual exam.”
Phil Wilson, MD, PhD, Salt Lake City, UT
“This was the best experience I’ve had attending CME courses in both Australia and the USA. I was impressed with the level of the presenters as well as the broad areas covered in the course. I am leaving the USA with a great sense of satisfaction and believe that I have made a solid investment by attending this course. I feel more confident about passing my exams.”
Natasha Laukens, MD, Brisbane, Australia
“There is no doubt in my mind that I would not have passed the written portion of the Board Exam without the help of the online course. I just had my second child and could not go to the course. Therefore, I ordered the online course. I studied while my newborn napped on my days off. I studied over 8 months and took the written portion for the first time and passed. I was very proud of myself and thankful that I had a course that outlined the information I needed to know, especially the neurology portion.”
Lisa Le, MD, Fenton, MD
“I wanted to say thanks for an excellent review course and comprehensive online review system. I passed my ABPN boards and did better than I anticipated I would, since I'm not the world's best standardized test-taker. I have no doubt the course and online review material helped me extensively in this endeavor. I plan to use the material to prepare for my AOBNP boards in March as well. Thanks again.”
Jeff Frey, MD, Howell, MI
“Thank you for the passionate effort for the course. Course is excellent, very helpful. Useful not only for Board Preparation but in daily clinical practice for patient care and prescribing. The course has been very stimulating to me for passing my boards.”
Mahmooda Hafiz, MD, Norfolk, VA
"It is often difficult to isolate effective learning tools, but I found the Home Study Course to be instrumental in my passing Part 1 of the Psychiatry Boards.”
Chioma Iheagwara, MD, Philadelphia, PA
"I passed my boards. Thank you very much. The course was very helpful. In fact I did not read anything outside the material. Very precise and excellent material. I will definitely recommend my friends to attend it. Thank you.”
Sateesh Gunda, MD, Springfield, MO
"I took this course and passed part 1 of the boards. I will take this course for part 2 also. Thank you so much!”
Larry Wise, MD, Coas, OR
"This course was responsible for helping me pass Part 1 on my first attempt!”
Salima Naqvi, MD, Prior Lake, MN
"I am a second year psychiatry resident. This course was recommended by my program director who simply stated, "If I had to do residency all over again, I would have absolutely purchased Beat The Boards for all 4 years." Swayed by his conviction, I bought the course as soon as the reimbursement education funds were available in July of this year. Needless to say, the course DID NOT DISAPPOINT! I got myself into watching the videos as often as possible, usually a few times a week. Not only were the lecturers knowledgeable and easy to follow, but the material was actually FUN! I was amazed at how high yield the material was for each lecture. For example, I reviewed a couple neurology lectures the weekend before my PRITE and easily got 3 or 4 questions correct directly from the lectures. I would recommend this program to any psychiatry resident who is preparing for the PRITE, or just interested in improving her or his knowledge base. Beat The Boards was absolutely my best education purchase in residency. THANK YOU!”
Eric Jarmon, DO, Middletown, NY
"I completed my Residency in the late nineties and never thought that I could ever pass the exams; I found that there were others like myself at the course and this was encouraging. Dr Jack Krasuski and his dedicated team of Doctors plowed through an intense 5 day period that covered a lot of material. I also found the review questions and practice exams very helpful. I went through every one of them, including the Neuro questions. After so many years of being away from textbooks, I surprised myself by Beating the Boards- Part I; now I look forward to Part II! I would encourage anyone seeking to give the Psychiatry Boards to consider this excellent course.”
N. Kurian, MD, Columbia, MO
"I would recommend this course to anyone preparing for the boards or wanting more CME credits. This course was essential to jump start my ABPN Part 1 review prep. Having been out of residency for 10+ years, I needed something well-structured and easy to use. After viewing the webinars I was well-prepared for both the exam and to do more detailed reading. I am fairly certain I would have tanked the exam without it. Thanks.”
Bradford Ashley, MD, Sherwood, OR
"Our institution purchased copies of Beat The Boards for us and preparation for the Psychiatry Resident In Training Exam was much easier having access to the question banks and explanations. It gave me a starting point in PRITE studying and preparation for the board exam at the end of training. The Q banks were most helpful to me, but content sections were also useful with good detail.”
Kateland Branch, MD, Winston Salem, NC
"I believe this was a great tool both for board preparation, as well as general great source (well organized, clear objectives, comprehensive summary of dx and tx options, etc). I would recommend this to all residents and new psych going into practice. The question bank was awesome, and clinical vignettes very similar to the test. Overall I was very happy with this course and would recommend it very highly!”
Ashley Doucette, MD, New Orleans, LA
"Overall I’m very pleased by this experience. Faculty presentations were outstanding, clear, and high yield. Speakers are engaging. Hours go by without realizing how long you’ve been there. My favorites: Dr. Sanchez, Dr. Lee, Dr. Karnik. Good Audio and visuals. I left with confidence and overall sense of what areas I need to focus better at.”
Tania C. Martinez, MD, Allentown, PA
"This course gave me a jump start towards my board preparation. I enjoyed questions in the beginning of the lectures with material during the lecture to focus on solving questions, with explanations of the correct answers at the end of the lectures. It was the best technique for learning difficult material. Speakers were excellent in their delivery style, organization in their presented material and were very approachable for questions and extra guidance. I was relaxed and able to focus better as I knew that if I missed something I can find it online. I made new friends to keep my enthusiasm.”
Aasia Syed, MD, Cleveland, OH
"Great experience, wonderful opportunity to learn in a very organized, complete, practiced and clear way. I will recommend to any resident, junior or senior in psychiatry. Amazing tools to use while teaching resident and medical students. The staff is very helpful and friendly, open to listen and respond to any questions. Thanks Jack and ALL Staff!”
Kurt Scwartz, MD, Plainview, NY
"I emailed a psychiatrist friend today who recently completed his psychiatry residency. I explained to him that this review course is awesome because it pulls together psychiatry and neurology under the same conceptual framework – which would be impossible for me to do that on my own. I wish someone would have told me about this course when I was in residency. My residency director was not board certified, so board certification was not directly encouraged. I really enjoyed making friends and laughing together.”
John N. Russo, MD, Albuquerque, NM
"Course provided a comprehensive yet exam-pertinent review for board examination, taught by clinical instructors who demonstrated not only knowledge and expertise, but also the ability to teach effectively to audience. Recommend not only for board examination review/preparation, but for residents during earlier stage of residency education for comprehensive understanding and knowledge”
Bestsy K. McGee, MD, MPH, Iowa City, MS
"I thought the course was a perfect supplement to my studying for the boards. It covered all topics relevant to the exam and allowed me to realize what sections I need to focus on more. The ability to speed up the pace of the lectures online was really beneficial as well, as I could complete the study lectures in less time and still absorb all of the information. If I had to do it again, I would definitely buy the course. Money well spent!”
Sam Brar, MD, APO, AP
"Course delivers complex concepts in digestible/concise packets, and builds progressively. Structured lectures, with appropriate emphasis on high-yield topics, augmented with logical explanations. This active learning trains you to logically extrapolate answers. Everything comes together nicely at the end of the course and one definitely feels confident by the conclusion of the course. Material is retained.”
Humaira Siddiqi, MD, Fairfax, VA
"Currently I am a PGY-IV resident and planning to take the psychiatry certification board exam. Someone told me about this course and I registered for the Beat the Boards! psychiatry certification course. I am so impressed that I have recommended this course highly to our program. Now they are considering purchasing the course for all the PGY-IV residents appearing in the board this year.”
Imran Jamil, MD, Jersey City, NJ
"This has been the most succinct informative way to learn I have participated in during my 30 years of practice. I personally told Dr. Krasuski that his tone of speech was, “Gentle, Loving, and Succinct” which helped to fulfill my passion of medicine. Jack, please read this excellent review!”
Jane Jackson, MD, FAPA, Kensington, MD
"Very helpful. Recommend to colleagues for sure. Thanks for putting together comprehensive material in concise format. Dr. Jack’s mellow and kind tone is reassuring in this tense pre-exam. Dr. Dayalu is the best speaker for neurology in the course. One of the best teachers I have come across in a long time.”
Manish Aggarwal, MD, Strengeville, OH
"This course has taken a daunting amount of information and condensed it into a much more manageable, but thorough, set of modules that are clearly geared toward helping me pass the board exam. The lectures were clear and concise in their presentations and the information was made more understandable.”
Tracy L. Crews, MD, Buckeye, AZ
"Dr. Krasuski not only addresses topics from examination point of view but he comes across as a great teacher, very sincere, dedicated to improving quality of patient care and very genuine. The course included high-yield topics, to the point exam relevancy and precise, extreme clarity. It was very fun to go over psychiatry and neurology.”
Aneela Ahmed, MD, Lafayette, CA

Richard Brown Jr., MD, Fairbanks, AK
"Excellent for practitioners who work solo or at great distance from colleagues to review refresh, re-learn, and learn new things they do not get to encounter routinely. I did the "At Home" version as my own 3-day weekend. Well done from an Educational Perspective!”
Jonathan G. Peterson., MD

Jose Fina Baluga, MD, Chattahoochee, FL
"Excellent are video, content and format. The reason why I bought it was a personal recommendation from some of my colleagues. All of them take courses from different companies too, but your course is reaching no 1. There are 2 reasons for that: quality of course and your honesty regarding the “Triple Guarantee.” Course helped me a lot and I am intending to get all your courses which are available. Please, send me updates about any new courses available in your institution. Thank you."
Juraj Lukac, MD, Staten Island, NY

Carolyn King, MD, Grand Rapids, MI
